A wall in the old city of Jerusalem (see also Jerusalem ), whose stones may have formed part of the Temple of Solomon . Sometimes called the Wailing Wall, it is visited in great numbers by Jews (see also Jews ) as a holy place that commemorates their sorrows from earliest times.
